Estoril
Test Round-Up
Date:
28-01~02.03.2005
Circuit: Estoril (Portugal)
Drivers: Marco Bonanomi, Greg Franchi, Franck Perera
Today
the fourth session of winter tests was over. These tests were
organized by Prema in view of the forthcoming Formula 3 Euro
Series 2005 Championship. Three intense days of tests that
took place on the Portuguese circuit of Estoril, where our
drivers Bonanomi, Franchi and Perera were able to try different
solutions for a better development of the new vehicle. The
overall assessment was certainly positive.
"Several tests were carried out in view of the imminent
season. All of them produced important results, even under
different track conditions." said engineer Andrea Burzoni,
the technician in charge of Franck Perera's car. "Regarding
Franck, once more he showed his high professionalism giving
objective feedback after each positive or negative modification
on the vehicle, useful for its development."
The chronometric results of our three drivers were also positive.
These are their comments:
Marco Bonanomi : "Once again we managed to work well.
We tried different set up solutions and from the very beginning
we were able to balance the vehicle properly. In the last
lap I marked the third absolute time. In the afternoon, instead,
when the temperature was higher we tried to simulate a qualifying
session. Sincerely, I am quite satisfied with the work done
together with my team."
Greg Franchi : "I had a slight accident two days before
reaching Portugal, so I was forced to drive always under the
effect of pain relievers. Anyway, I am satisfied with my performance.
I am sure that if I had been in more favourable conditions
I would have done better."
Franck Perera : "The new vehicle showed all its qualities
on a circuit we had known last year. We managed to be more
than a second faster than the time of the pole position, establishing
the new record of the circuit. It was important to work well.
Together with us, there were eleven cars which will take part
in the forthcoming championship. It was a sort of first official
test. As usual, the work with the team was optimal."
Next test will be in a week's time in Misano Adriatico, Italy.
