Greg Murphy signs for Team Goddard-Minardi Team Asia

Irishman, Greg Murphy, has signed with Team Goddard-Minardi Team Asia to defend the team’s Promotion Class Title in their Dallara 398 TOM’S car.

Greg Murphy tested early March for the team at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines and impressed the team enough with his performance for a contract to be inked to compete in the Promotions Class. The 25 year old driver has previously raced in his home Country in Formula Vee, Irish Italian Touring Car Series, Formula Europa and latterly in Formula Rover. He also had a stint in UK Formula Ford and Formula Renault.

“Like all our drivers in Formula BMW and Formula Three they are part of the Minardi ladder to the top and the Minardi F1 team will be keeping a close eye on the performance of Greg” said Team Proprietor Mark Goddard. “We have won the Promotion Class in the past two years and we are counting on him to make it a hat trick!”

Greg Murphy reports that after his test at BRC he found that the physical pounding he received on the notoriously bumpy track was much more than he expected. “That plus the incredible heat was very draining” reported Murphy “ I’ve been in training since getting home and I am now raring to go!”

The first round of the Asian F3 Series will be on April 10th at the Batangas Race Circuit in the Philippines.
