(lil), Press release Team Coloni, Formula 3
Qualifying
report, Mugello
Coloni
Motorsport and Christian Montanari earned during the qualifying
at Mugello (sixth race of the Italian F.3 Championship) a precious
front row, the first in Formula 3 in Montanaris career, while
the young Italian Marco Bonanomi took the sixth place in grid.
Mugello
circuit showed one more time the high competitiveness of the new
Lola-Dome F106 Mugen Honda. During the second session Christian
set a time of 1.46.03, which will allow him to start from the second
place in the Sunday race
Marco
Bonanomi will start from the sixth position after a very good second
session, but the Italian couldnt well exploit his new sets
of tyres: in fact, he was heavily hindered during the first session
by Toni Vilander, who later was punished because of his behavior.
The
race will take place on Sunday at 15.00.
Christian Montanari, 2nd 1.46.03: We worked very well,
Im very pleased with my first front row and above all Im
happy with the pace I had during the afternoon session: using the
old tyres I was able to be about one second faster than morning.
So I am very confident for the race, the car is very good.
Marco
Bonanomi, 6th 1.47.08: The morning session was good and
I worked also on the set up, finding a good configuration for the
afternoon. But in the second session with old tyres- unfortunately
I couldnt improve my time. Im happy however, the car
is really competitive and Sunday the race will be very exciting,
even if I will have to look after the tyre wear.
